Artisan Style

Saturday, October 24th, a new day to try and drum up business with our Mimosa Saturday’s that are an on-going event.  Kathy Kromer and Sue Pirtle of La Casa de Corazon came to the gallery to meet any customers that would be coming by.  UNFORTUNATELY, it was a slow morning and no one came by until the afternoon.  Sue and Kathy were sweet enough to drop off the cutest Christmas tree of ornaments and a new double hearts painting on a cigar box.  I love it all.  They also hung out with me as we thought of new marketing ideas, with me boiling in my fur-lined hoodie (hey, it was cold that morning)!  See below for pictures of the Christmas ornaments.

Shortly after they left, customers started pouring in.  For about an hour, we were literally jammed with people.  And of course, I mean it as a good thing; Artisan Style was selling art and meeting new, fabulous customers.  Two of Steve and I’s best friends came in and fell in love with so many different things.  Julia took advantage of our Red.Neck Special and bought two cute purses.  Jon immediately loved Rosemary Pierce Lackey’s Round and Round painting in Green.  Sold, Sold, Sold – thank you Jon and Julia!  You guys are the best! TRULY!

Business continued until 5 pm at a steady pace – making this the best Saturday to date.  Thank you everyone who came in, and thank you to Kathy and Sue for stopping by.

Not mentioned on the previous list of artists due to being a last minute addition was Jim Frederick, an Oak Cliff artist whose artwork is as fascinating as he is nice.  I have not had the chance to spend much time with Jim, but we have exchanged many emails and messages on facebook, and he continuously gives me support and advice that has proven priceless.  Not only do I want to do anything and everything I can to help him succeed as an artist, I know he will do everything he can to help us succeed as gallery owners.  There are very few people like him out there.  With that said, please make sure to check out Jim’s work when you get a chance.  He will be showing through November 20th, and I will also be picking up a rack of his hand-painted greeting cards next week to carry through the holidays.
