Douglas Winters paints in several different series, one being contemporary landscapes.  His oil on canvas renditions of trees, mountains and all things nature are incredibly detailed, unique and one of a kind visions and interpretations of what a landscape is in today’s contemporary art world.  We have several pieces of his on display, including those below.  Make sure to come in and check them out!

This exhibit is to give vision and voice to the experiences of all those affected by breast cancer. The mission of this exhibit is to bring awareness of breast cancer and how it affects survivors, patients, families and friends who have stories to share. It is to increase community awareness and healing through art.
This exhibition is a celebration of strength, courage, fragility and feeling expressed through painting, collage, sculpture, dance, storytelling, film/video and song.
The “Dance of Life” will have an auction of embellished bras that will be exhibited alongside works of art at the opening reception. We are organizing multiple events centered around the event.  If you or your organization in the DFW area would like to set up a workshop to create embellished bras, I’ll be glad to attend and help get it going.
Everyone is invited to participate in this event. All entries are donated for the Auction. All entries will be exhibited and Auctioned and there are no returns.
Funds raised will go to a local cancer research/recovery facility.

I just took a few pics this evening of our boutique – let me know what you think.  The plastic chandelier is a bit tacky but in a good way, right?  The jewelry on display is made by Sally Everett of Sally’s Designs, Katrina Rogers and Uncommon Ground artist Debbie Carroll.

Tonight, Thursday March 25, Michelle Stroescu was the first of three artists that are apart of our Uncommon Ground show to give an artist talk.  And although she spoke to mostly a group of artists, I walked away thinking the night was a success.  Gina is a powerhouse of ideas.  Michelle is as well.  Roy Vance and David G. Smith, both active artists at the gallery, attended the event and it turns out they have some great ideas as well.  Not to give too much away, as Michelle advised, but I will be putting a calendar together to send to Gina to help me come up with some killer events that will help make Artisan Style stand out even more.  Thanks for the great evening!  I really appreciate each you attending the event and supporting Michelle and Artisan Style.  Here are some pictures of pieces David left, that will be for sale at Artisan Style.  Aren’t they so modern and now?
